Create a scheduled workpaper

Create a one-time, weekly, or monthly workpaper schedule when the same close process needs to start automatically, resulting in a linked checklist task and a scheduled Workpaper Agent run.

Workflow

Step 1

Open New workpaper

Start in Truewind on Workpaper Agent so the New workpaper entry point is available from the main workpaper area.

Step 2

Select Schedule

Use the Schedule option when you want Truewind to create a workpaper on a future date instead of starting the run immediately.

Step 3

Enter a name

Choose a schedule name that will also make the linked checklist task easy to recognize in month close.

Step 4

Choose the first run time

Pick a future date and time. Truewind stores the schedule in your local timezone and uses that same timezone when showing the next run.

Step 5

Choose an execution mode

Select Start fresh to run from an SOP prompt, or Roll forward existing to reuse a prior workpaper as the starting point.

Step 6

Select the source workpaper setup

If you chose Start fresh, select an SOP prompt. If you chose Roll forward existing, select the seed workpaper that should be reused for future runs.

Step 7

Set the frequency

Choose One time, Weekly, or Monthly depending on whether this workpaper should run once or repeat on a regular cadence.

Step 8

Review advanced settings

Expand Advanced settings if you need to add schedule-specific instructions, choose a task period, or set a due date that differs from the scheduled run date.

Step 9

Create the schedule

Submit the form to create the scheduled workpaper. Truewind creates the linked checklist task immediately and opens that task so you can review it.

Step 10

Review the linked task and schedule

Return to Workpaper Agent > Schedules to confirm the schedule status, the next run, and the linked workpaper activity after the schedule starts materializing runs.

What this feature creates

Creating a scheduled workpaper does two things at the same time:

  • it saves the schedule in Workpaper Agent
  • it creates a linked checklist task for the scheduled process

This is useful when the same close workflow needs a repeatable starting point and a clear month-close task to track ownership and timing.

What to review after setup

After the schedule is created, open Workpaper Agent > Schedules to verify the name, frequency, timezone, next run, and linked task details. When the scheduled run triggers, the detail page also shows the occurrence history and links back to the created task and workpaper.

FAQ

What is the difference between Start fresh and Roll forward existing?

Start fresh creates the scheduled workpaper from the SOP prompt you select. Roll forward existing uses a prior workpaper as the reusable starting point for future runs.

What frequencies are available?

You can create a one-time schedule, a weekly recurring schedule, or a monthly recurring schedule.

What happens after I create the schedule?

Truewind creates a linked checklist task right away and then shows the schedule in Workpaper Agent > Schedules, where you can monitor the next run and later occurrences.

Limitations

The first run must be scheduled in the future

Truewind will not let you save a scheduled workpaper with a run date and time that has already passed in your local timezone.

Each execution mode requires its own source

Start fresh requires an SOP prompt, while Roll forward existing requires a seed workpaper to copy forward.

Troubleshooting

I cannot create the schedule because the form rejects the run time.

Choose a future date and time, then confirm you are selecting the run in the intended local timezone shown on the form.

The form says an SOP prompt or seed workpaper is required.

Match the source to the execution mode. Start fresh needs an SOP prompt, and Roll forward existing needs a seed workpaper.

The checklist due date is not what I expected.

Open Advanced settings and clear the default same-as-run-date behavior so you can choose a different task due date before creating the schedule.
