What this workflow is for

Use this workflow when a close task needs to be tracked in Checklist. A Checklist task can include a name, description, attachments, status, due date, recurrence settings, priority, category, preparers, and reviewers.

Before you create the task

Confirm you are in the right client account and close period. The selected period controls where the task appears after it is created.

After creating the task

Review the task row in Checklist, then open task detail when you need the full activity history, attachments, comments, assignees, status, due date, and other task details.

FAQ

Deleting a task removes the selected Checklist task after you confirm the deletion.

Limitations

Tasks are period scoped

Checklist shows tasks for the selected close period. Confirm the period before creating or editing a task.

Recurrence settings control future occurrences

The frequency and repeat-until date determine when future task occurrences are created.

Editing depends on permissions

Some fields may be unavailable if your role cannot edit the task or if the task state restricts changes.

Troubleshooting

I do not see the new task.

Confirm you are viewing the same close period where the task was created and clear any table filters.

I cannot save recurrence settings.

Confirm the frequency and repeat-until date are set, then save the recurring task settings before creating the task.

I cannot edit or delete the task.

Confirm your role has permission to manage Checklist tasks and that the task is in an editable state.
