About Truewind
Truewind builds AI agents for finance teams to close faster, reduce manual work, and deliver clean, investor-ready financials.
Our product takes on accounting work that still creates spreadsheet chaos: Point of Sale tie-outs, payroll accruals, revenue schedules, rollforwards, reconciliations, and review-ready workpapers. Truewind is a Y Combinator company backed by a $13 million Series A co-led by Rho Capital and Thomson Reuters Ventures, with more than $17 million raised.
Why This Role Exists
Truewind's demand today is concentrated in events, inbound interest, and Sales-led activity. What is missing is a lifecycle engine that creates qualified opportunities to further accelerate our growth flywheel.
Finance buyers do not reward generic productivity claims. They want to know whether automation produces reviewable work, fits the close, and preserves control.
As Truewind's first dedicated demand-gen hire, you will build the engine for finance and accounting leaders at operating companies, our primary segment. Accounting firms are secondary. You will choose where to focus, build the campaigns and systems yourself, and inspect the funnel with Sales. Success is creating the right opportunities and knowing what caused them.
What You Will Own
Pipeline Strategy and Performance Marketing
- Turn the target into a quarterly channel plan, forecast, and test roadmap for priority accounts and trigger events.
- Start with three channel hypotheses such as LinkedIn campaigns to finance leaders, high-intent Google Search, and retargeting and lifecycle programs around events and product education.
- Build audience playbooks from firmographic, behavioral, intent, trigger, and engagement signals so each campaign starts with a defined segment, need, and reason to act.
- Own a $25,000-$75,000 quarterly program budget, excluding payroll and major event sponsorships, and manage audiences, creative and offer tests, landing-page conversion, pacing, and cost per qualified opportunity.
- Own the paid journey from ad to qualified sales opportunity. Decide what to scale, change, or stop based on conversion, pipeline quality, and cost—not clicks or form fills alone.
Campaigns, Lifecycle, and Demand-Ready Messaging
- Turn customer pain, product releases, proof, sales-call learning, and events into campaigns, then write and ship the email, nurture, landing-page, and Sales follow-up work yourself.
- Own the highest-priority lifecycle journeys across education, nurture, opportunity acceleration, recycling, and re-engagement, with clear triggers, eligibility, handoffs, frequency, and exit logic; expand coverage as evidence and team capacity justify.
- Own the Product Marketing required by the demand system: ICP and persona insight, positioning, message testing, launch narratives, competitive context, customer proof, and Sales enablement.
- Translate each audience and product hypothesis into testable messages across email, landing pages, paid creative, product education, and Sales follow-up.
Demand Operations and Measurement
- Own demand execution in HubSpot: campaign architecture, naming, lists, workflows, attribution, and reporting.
- Partner with Revenue Operations on source logic, routing, and data quality; RevOps retains permissions, integrations, and schema governance.
- Build one view of pipeline, conversion, velocity, channel economics, and Sales follow-up, then use it in a weekly investment review.
Sales Partnership and Closed-Loop Learning
- Align with Sales on target accounts, qualification, handoffs, and follow-up expectations.
- Review opportunity outcomes to identify the messages, offers, and trigger events that create serious conversations.
- Build campaign assets, account intelligence, and follow-up plays that Sales uses.
What Success Looks Like
In Your First 30 Days
- Learn the business and the buyer: understand Truewind's product, finance workflows, buying committee, sales motion, pipeline, and the moments that create or stall demand through customer and prospect calls, Sales conversations, and funnel data.
- Build an initial ICP segmentation model using the firmographic, behavioral, intent, trigger, and engagement signals Truewind can support today, while documenting material data and instrumentation gaps.
- Design the first one or two message experiments for positioning, value propositions, and broader ICP narratives to launch in the Day 60 window. Give each a defined audience, hypothesis, success threshold, decision window, and comparison method appropriate to the available volume.
- Audit HubSpot, lifecycle journeys, routing, attribution, and reporting; validate the baseline, source rules, and highest-priority measurement gaps.
By Day 60
- Launch the first priority experiment with a clear audience, hypothesis, success threshold, complete tracking, an agreed Sales follow-up motion, and a control or comparison where practical.
- Produce the first readout using the evidence available by Day 60. Make a scale, revise, or stop decision when the signal supports one; otherwise document what remains unknown and the next test or decision date.
- Launch the first priority lifecycle journey—such as event follow-up, product education, nurture, or re-engagement—with explicit enrollment, handoff, frequency, and exit logic. This may also serve as the first priority experiment when lifecycle is the highest-leverage starting point.
- Repair the highest-priority lifecycle or reporting gap and establish a weekly readout across campaign performance, funnel conversion, pipeline quality, and follow-up.
By Day 90
- Operate the first validated lifecycle journey and establish the demand-enabling Product Marketing foundation: documented ICP and persona insight, tested positioning, launch and proof assets, and a prioritized lifecycle and campaign backlog.
- Where evidence is sufficient, move the strongest audience, message, and offer combinations into paid campaigns across the highest-confidence channels, with landing-page conversion, budget pacing, and downstream pipeline quality measured as one journey. Continue testing rather than scaling on schedule when the evidence is not yet strong enough.
- Deliver the next-quarter demand plan with its pipeline target, segment and channel priorities, experiment roadmap, budget, forecast, and explicit tradeoffs.
- Show early pipeline contribution or a defensible leading indicator, measured against the validated baseline or a matched comparison so contribution is not inferred from correlation alone. Evaluate it in the context of the sales cycle, approved budget, available creative and data support, and Sales follow-up capacity; use holdouts where volume supports them.
What We Are Looking For
- Five or more years in hands-on B2B SaaS demand generation or growth marketing, including meaningful early-stage experience.
- Evidence of a clearly defined contribution to qualified pipeline, opportunities, ARR, CAC, or revenue outcomes, including something you built from zero.
- Hands-on fluency with HubSpot or a comparable marketing automation and CRM environment.
- Experience improving a paid acquisition channel across budget pacing, creative and offer tests, landing-page conversion, and pipeline quality.
- Ability to turn customer and product insight into positioning, campaign messaging, launch narratives, competitive context, and Sales-ready proof.
- Strong writing and measurement judgment: you can explain the audience, hypothesis, copy, instrumentation, result, and investment decision behind your work.
- Experience partnering closely with Sales on targeting, qualification, handoffs, follow-up, and pipeline quality.
We care more about what you owned, shipped, and changed than about a perfect title history. Be ready to discuss one program that worked and one you stopped or materially changed because the evidence did not support continued investment.
Helpful Experience
- Marketing to controllers, CFOs, or other buyers in the office of the CFO.
- Accounting, ERP, close management, workflow automation, fintech, or other complex B2B software.
- Building a paid acquisition program from zero or scaling multiple performance channels.
You will get direct access to customer workflows, sales calls, product decisions, and performance data. Truewind is still early, so expect direct feedback and hands-on execution. In return, you will have authority over the demand system, equity, and a chance to define how an emerging AI-accounting category reaches the market.
What We Offer
- Expected base salary of $140,000-$180,000, plus equity.
- Direct access to founders, customers, product decisions, and the finance workflows Truewind is changing.
- Unlimited PTO.
- Medical, dental, and other insurance benefits.
- Complimentary meals and commuter benefits for in-office work.
Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and the final scope of the role. For exceptional candidates, Truewind may have flexibility above the stated range based on depth of experience and fit.
